Few rivalries in Esports come close to the fire between the Philippines and Indonesia in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. For two years in a row, they’ve faced off in WEC finals, each time with a different outcome. Indonesia took the crown in 2022 in front of their own crowd, then the Philippines struck back last year in Romania. Now, the question everyone’s asking is: who’s bringing home the title in 2024?

What makes this rivalry so special?

Every time these two hit the stage, viewership hits record highs. Over 700,000 fans tuned in last year to watch the final showdown, with viewers from all corners of the globe glued to their screens, and that’s not even counting the signature chanting fans in the stands that follow their national champs everywhere.

New Lineups, Same rivalry

Indonesia’s already turned their engines on, coming in hot with a new squad this year: Team Fnatic ONIC. These fresh national champions have been smashing records in the regional qualifiers, sending a clear message: they’re here to reclaim the crown, and they might be even stronger than last year’s lineup. Meanwhile, the Philippines has been quietly watching from the sidelines, automatically qualified as last year’s reigning champs. This year, Team RRQ Kaito will represent them at WEC24 after defeating last year’s World Esports Champions, AP Bren, in the Philippines National Qualifiers. With their new lineup, they are ready to remind everyone why they’re at the top and defend their legacy.

While all eyes are on these two, they aren’t the only ones with big dreams. Teams from countries like Malaysia and Egypt are here to prove they belong on the top of the podium, ready to disrupt the established order and chase the crown. Could this be the year someone finally shakes things up? New rosters and nations are joining the mix, and anything is possible!

So, who’s your pick? Are we in for another Philippines-Indonesia classic, or will a new champion step up and snatch the shiniest medal right out of their hands?

Get ready, Esports fans! We’re in the final stretch, and the World Esports Championship 2024 is coming to Riyadh in just one week. The SEF Arena is prepped for an Esports experience like no other. National Teams flying in from all over the world, a massive $1 million prize pool, and a lineup of top-tier athletes across game titles like MLBB, PUBG Mobile, Dota 2, and CS2. This event is set to make Esports history!

From Qualifiers to WEC24’s Grand Finale

The whole journey to Riyadh has been unforgettable. Starting with the record-breaking national qualifiers to some of the most exciting and most viewed regional qualifiers in recent years, the stage has been set. And as a historic highlight, the first-ever African Esports Championship took Casablanca by storm!

But now, all eyes are fixed on the grand finale, the biggest event of the year, WEC24.

What to Expect from Each Game Title:

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang:

MLBB fans, you’re in for a treat! Defending champs Philippines with team RRQ Kaito representing them are coming in strong, but they’re facing down fierce rivals like Indonesia’s veteran Fnatic Onic team and a resilient Malaysian squad. Adding a fresh twist, new challengers are stepping into the mix, bringing a whole new level of unpredictability.

WEC24 latest edition: MLBB Women’s Category

Additionally, the MLBB Women’s category will be making its spectacular debut at the WEC, giving the fans even more thrilling matchups. The inclusion of women’s teams in MLBB has truly made an impact this year, and we’re excited to witness the high level of skill these teams have displayed so far. With so many great athletes participating, this tournament is set to bring new MLBB excitement!

PUBG Mobile: Battle Royale at Its Best:

Reigning PUBG Mobile champs from Kyrgyzstan are back to defend their title, but fierce competition awaits. With Ukraine and Turkey emerging as powerhouse teams in the regional qualifiers, expect tactical brilliance, ambushes, and game-changing plays as teams fight for every inch of the battlefield. Each squad has its eye on the prize, and this year’s PUBG Mobile showdown is shaping up to be a full-throttle ride where anything can happen.

Dota 2: Legends in the Making:

With the most competitive lineup yet, WEC24’s Dota 2 tournament is set to feature the top talent from all over the world. Veterans and newcomers alike are ready to give their all, with countless hours of prep and strategy coming down to each game.

CS2: An Unpredictable Arena:

In CS2, expect nothing but surprises. Top teams from Europe, like Sweden, Poland, and the Netherlands, are bringing their best, but they’ll be up against a mix of international talents who aren’t here to play it safe. We’ve seen some serious shakedowns in the Regional Qualifiers, and we know the final tournament will bring even more.

CS2 Women’s Category:

The women’s category is already a standout feature of the year, as it represents the largest CS2 women’s tournament globally. When we say “largest,” we truly mean it—there will be 16 teams competing, and the prize pool is an impressive $160,000. This reflects the significant growth and recognition of women athletes on the international stage and WEC24.

Both categories will be a real battleground, with every round pushing the limits of skill and teamwork. CS2 at WEC24 is always releasing the next rising talents of the CS2 scene, big plays, and underdogs turning the tables!

Follow the excitement:

This year, we’re going all out by focusing on each title game title separately, covering every showdown, every rivalry, and every clutch moment from start to finish through our channels:
